Tomb Raider ROCKS!
That's all. TR I Demo works great on my 486, too. I feel like the master for completing it, BUT that was, after all, just LEVEL 1!

Oi!

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

I got TR 3 for the Playstation. I played it till halfway through the first jungle level, but got stuck. My friend Jay (wizard) stayed at my house for a weekend, and solved the first jungle level and then got halfway through the second. I haven't touched it since then--I've been doing other stuff...

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

It is a real puzzle game. If you want lots of action, this game won't please you. If you want a relaxing walk through Virtual Reality, though, it can be a great way to unwind.

By Bryan (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

Hey Sol, if your computer can handle it, I have
the TR I cd. I'm not playing it right now. Maybe
you would like to borrow it for a month or two?

-Houdini

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Hey, Bryan, that sounds like a good idea. However, I plan to shut myself off from pretty much all hangout contact in the next 3 months. To all friends: don't take it personally if you have a hard time contacting me in the next 3 or so! I am going to again increase my work hours (just a tad) because I believe I can finish my loans by the end of June. It will be VERY close, but I can do it. It will not leave any time for really anything else, BUT I think it is worth it if I can eliminate this loan-debt. A tough but Exciting time, I shall conquer!

Peace,
Tony

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Of course, the unspoken benefit is this: if I succeed, I will have FREE TIME this SUMMER!

Ciao!

I beat Wing Commander IV last week. It's a kewl game! The fighters are really intense. The end movie sequence is kewl, too! I won't ruin it for people who haven't played it yet, but a very popular character dies midway through the game. I was very sad, since he was one of my favorites. Anyway, 'tis all for now. L8R!

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

I've been playing Chaos Gate, and currently have 2 squads of 5 marines each which have been elevated to Mighty Hero status, as well as Terminator Honors. With these 10 marines, I have killed more than 100 bad guys. Also, 4 of them are from the very first squad I used in the very first mission... They kick butt. Unfortunately, tho, I have had casualties, but mostly from other squads I use for support. I've lost a total of 12 marines so far, out of 40. Not bad, but not good either. My two squads of heroes easily is worth more than the 12 marines I've lost. For The IMPERIUM!

By j.delgrosso (Jn) on Unrecorded Date:

I've been playing Castlevania. But I was an idiot and saved when I had like zero health. Now I keep dying. This is the N64 version. I'm just babbling. Someone talk to me!!!

By Bryan (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

Hi jn!

That's a really cool game! I have the original Nintendo version on my PC at home. Jn, have you played Mars Rising for the Mac? I really wish
Ambrosia software would start making their games
for PC's. Darn Mac zealots. :>

How is your day going? :)

I'm just babbling...someone talk to me...boy you havent changed at all :)

Get Zelda for the 64, best game ever made....except for the breathing game...gotta remember in and out and repeat

Tas

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Tas,

Do you mean Icarus of Time? I forgot what it was called, but I played it once and the Opening Scene took my breath away! (1-2-the breathing game).

I abSOLutely loved it! What a masterpiece! It just goes to show the direction that VR is headed. Beautiful virtual worlds with beings and beauty and so VAST... VAST worlds all stored in a tiny amount of physical space! Amazing!

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

So anyone try out spaced or pizza worm yet? I listed them under Presents from the Web - let me know if you tried them yet!

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

Nope. Been too busy...

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

I used to be really good at Dragon's Lair. I even had a hint book, but I lent it to this guy and he never gave it back. Darn! Never did win, tho. I'm talking the arecade machine by the way.

They really used to line up for Pac-Man. Business Men on lunch would get mad at you if you occupied the machine too long... everyone wanted to play!

Waka waka

I still dearly love this game.

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

So is Playstation any good? I hear N64 has Tetrisphere and the South Park game, but Playstation has a lot of really cool games, too! What to do?

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

Actually, I think the game companies got together one day and had a meeting, and each system agreed to produce certain games, and not overlap the products for use with competitor's systems... The result is a limited number of cool games for each system, where you need to actually buy a whole system to play each company's cool games. Marketing ploy--makes lots of money, pisses off consumers... What is one to do.

As far as Playstation goes, it has many very kewl games... I think it has more for the sports fan than any of the other systems out there, but also has a very good smattering of epic-style role-players. Also Tekken 3, IMHO the very best fighting game to date. A close second to that is Soul Edge, based on Soul Blade from the arcades, only with a questing option... Sega Saturn picked up the Virtua Fighter series of games, also a really kewl fight game trilogy. I'm not sure which system picked up the MK trilogy, tho... I think mebbe nintendo grabbed that one up...

The final choice, of course, is up to the consumer. I would, however, recommend you look for the game titles you'd be most interested in playing the most often, then find out which game system they're made for... This will ultimately make your decision alot easier in the long run.

By j.delgrosso (Jn) on Unrecorded Date:

holy...cow.. :) I forgot to post in here, and people have responded to me. No wonder everyone's sore at me.. I haven't answered 'em. Sorry guys! *cringe*

I don't like Zelda! too much walking! Well to be fair I haven't really..um..exactly..played it. I did watch a friend play it for 5 hours once. We turned the machine on and he was gonna show me how to play and then he just wouldn't let me play. I don't go for those kinda games. I was surprised I liked Castlevania.

The only other Castlevania I ever played was the SNES version. I loved it. The new one is great,.. but I haven't had time to play it :(

I think Tom got himself that Beetle racing game for my birthday (isn't it neat how men always get presents they know *they'll* enjoy? *rolls eyes*)

Other than that, I have no time to do this anymore.

"talk to me! no one talks to me! *whines at Tas*

By j.delgrosso (Jn) on Unrecorded Date:

boy this board is dead lately.

I just got a wholebuncha games all of a sudden. It was my birthday last Friday so I got some games and used up my bday money to buy some more. Then Tom got another one because it was $20.

So, in the past week I've acquired Beetle Adventure Racing(n64), Frogger(snes), Banjo Kazooie(n64) and that auto lamborghini game (it was $20, for the n64).

I also got a gameboy color and tetris. Oh, and a few other games for that but I've only played Tetris. I got 387 lines the other day! whoo!

BAR is cool.. but I just farted around , haven't actually started *playing*.. the auto lamb. game is neat, even if you're bored and just wanna drive.. I've been spending most evenings playing Banjo. I rented it a long time ago and it took me maybe an hour to re-do all that I'd already figured out. Now I'm a little further, got 3 puzzle pieces the other night. I didn't play last night because I was too tired from the work thing.

Frogger... we spent all weekend playing that game. My mother actually asked me what it was. geez, get with it, mom.

Meanwhie my father got ahold of the gameboy and after making fun of me ("you *would* have Tetris in it..") he was still standing there 3 hours later when I came back upstairs.. playing tetris.

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Ah, the sadness of the V-G deprived.

Yes, I play a lot of Pac Man and Ms Pac Man on my IBM, although I also replayed the Tomb Raider Demo last night... I hear they're soon coming out with a 128-bit computer game system? I heard this summer, def. b4 X-mas. Can anyone verify?

Sol

By Bryan (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

I think so. I think Sony is the next one due for
a new system... but don't quote me on that.

This past weekend my cousin got me a very
belated christmas present. A N64 system!

I love it! Alot of the games on the N64 are 4 player which is very cool for hangouts with friends.

I rented a game called Vigilante 8, a racing game with attitude. Each player selects a vehicle
and weapons, then get ready to battle!

More about this later. For now its back to work!

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Ask your friend if he wants any more friends!

Sol

By Bryan (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

"Who made that man a gunner?"
"I did sir. He's my cousin."

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

You know, Bry, when you get a chance, rent Tetrisphere for N64. Trust me, you will love it. It is like Tetris except you have to drop pieces from Space onto the surface of a great sphere. It is very addictive, and you can even play against a friend!

By j.delgrosso (Jn) on Unrecorded Date:

Actually Dreamcast (Sega) will be next. It's
already out in Japan (I think).. and Sony
esn't heven have a prototype for this cool
sounding machine, so feh.

Tetrisphere is cool, I have it. Of course, I
rarely play it anymore..

You MUST at least rent Beetle Adventure Racing :)

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Sounds cool, jn! Is Beetle Racing about the Beetle Borgs? I love Tetrisphere so much! Maybe I'll have to come over to your house and play it!

By j.delgrosso (Jn) on Unrecorded Date:

Beetle is a racing game, all the cars are vw beetles. It's cool. I've been playing it a lot lately, finally getting used to it (so I'm slow..)

I also picked up Wetrix.. you'd probably like that, Sol. The idea is to build landscape with pieces that fall, so they can contain water that also falls. Then you get lakes (and if you get one deep enough, you get ducks!) and stuff. It's hard but I'm getting better at it.

You're welcome to come to my house, if you can stand the 350 mile commute :)

-j

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

I forgot, where again Jn? If I am in the neighborhood, maybe I'll drop in, no?

350 MUST be California. It's California, right?

By j.delgrosso (Jn) on Unrecorded Date:

no. Just Jersey.. wheee :)

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

Huh. I'm only 270 miles away... No, make that 370 miles. Which means I must be like, close to 20 miles away from Jn! ;>

By j.delgrosso (Jn) on Unrecorded Date:

scary, isn't it? :)

and I'm like 35 miles away from work. Yet it takes
an hour (sometimes more) to get there.

hmph.

I'm bringing my PlayStation up with me. Also, a VCR. I call it my portable game system... FUN SHALL COMMENCE!

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Yes! Play-Station!

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

I played some Total Annhialation with Zummi and Jaimie the other day... crazy good fun! Unfortunately, after 6 hours of playing the computer crashed and we didn't get to finish our game! Doh!

We were very close to victory, however. I successfully established 6 robot factories on the enemy's continent, and was building execution droids like crazy. Those guys were ready to kick some real butt, then the game crashed. Oh well! What can you do? If the game had continued, I would have swarmed the enemy base with hundreds of droids.

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

I got a new PlayStation game--Gran Turismo. A racing game of the highest calibur. You start with 10,000 bucks and buy a used car, then you start racing. As you get better you can go get your B-class, A-class, or International A-class racing license, which allows you to enter different events and earn more money. The money you earn, you use to modify your car, buy new cars, etc. Eventually, you get a garage full of really awesome, personalized racing cars--but that's not the cool part! You save your cars on a memory card, and then you go to a friend's house with your memory card, plug it in, and race your cars against his! WILD good fun! The graphics are kickin, the soundtrack is awesome, and it has the most compelling of human vices as its motivators--greed and ego! A great racing game. Sol, if you liked the 3D world of Soul-Edge & Tekken 3, you will LOVE this COMPLETELY real 3D world of racing. L8R!

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

I've discovered a place unlike any I've seen before. It's called 'XS' and it's 2 blocks up 7th ave. from where I work. It's a video arcade--with a twist. It has VR simulators in it, the basement has a Laser Tag Maze/Arena, the upstairs has a sports bar, food-purchasing-thingy, and the internet. All this is kewl, but relatively normal... The really wild part is that you never need to go to a change machine--ever. Instead, you buy a magnetically coded debit card with which to slot into the games, which AUTOMATICALLY DEDUCT THE DEBIT AMOUNT AS YOU PLAY! And when your card runs outta cash, there are encoding machines throughout the place where you slot the card, insert cash/credit card, and type in what you want encoded (via MAC-machine interface). I got yesterday's special deal: $20 card for just $15! There's $14 left on it now... L8R!

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

My friend, Jon (the one who played Magic with us when you guys visited) just got a kewl game for the Playstation called Army Men 3-D. You get to play Green Army Sarge (like the little plastic soldiers you can buy) and run around doing missions against Tan Army. You can be a bazooka guy, a minesweeper guy, an automatic rifle guy, a mine-layer guy, a flamethrower guy (bad guys melt when you flame 'em!), a grenade guy, or a mortar guy. Also, you can drive around in a plastic jeep with a plastic machine-gun on top, OR a plastic tank. There's even a 2-player mode which is like plastic army-man capture-the-flag. You play Sarge (for either green or tan army) and you get to place up to 5 other army guys around as guards. You can belly-crawl, and duck, and run, and combat roll, and dive for cover, and call in reconnaissance, and blow up bad guys, and steal the flag, and... ;>

The kewlest part is the life indicator: A plastic army guy in the corner that gets chunks blown off it as you lose life. I give it ten thumbs up! Also, there are expansion packs for it... I think one of them is more of a strategy game, where you set up from a God-perspective, and can do stuff like have the plastic soldiers melt on the stove-top or get chopped up by lawnmowers. Look it up--Great fun!

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

I just tried out Chaos Gate for the IBM. It is a cool 40K rendition, and I eventually beat the Demo Level 1... only 4 tries! Well, Uncle Bill comes over and beats it in 1 try... and doesn't lose a single space marine! Woah!

PS - Jeff has yet to beat it at all - the scenario is pretty tough!

By Solenoid (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Coming for the N64 - a 4-player game starring Xena, Warrior Princess. Angie is a big fan. And for Playstation (coming who-knows-when) a video RPG for Battle Angel! Rock on!

It may be a year before Playstation puts out its next-generation system, which looks more and more like a regular PC, and is rumored to sell at somewhere from $300 - $400... I don't mind, I think that's way too much money. I may soon acquire a new Playstation, however, if I can convince myself that the fun is worth it! Probably not too hard :)

By Bryan (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

Yeah!

I'm going to get it! Xena! Woo hoo!

Uhh...when i have some extra cash. :)

By Solenoid (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

I can't believe they're still trying to push Sonic though. Sonic's dead - end of story, nobody cares anymore. I hate it when they railroad old characters into the ground. If I had a penny for every Mario game in existance, I'd have a dollar.

Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, Donkey Kong III,
Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario II,
Super Mario III, Super Mario World, Super Mario Land, Super Wario Land, Mario's Tennis, MarioCart,
Mario64, DiddyKong Racing, MarioParty, Jeez, I can't even list 'em all!

By Sherm (Sherm) on Unrecorded Date:

Anyone have R-Type for the Super NES?

I can't get past the Boss for the third level... I used to be able to do it, but I can't get it now.... anyone know what I need to do?

-Sherm

By Amanda (Starkindler) on Unrecorded Date:

Anyone ever play the game "Maabus"? It's so awesome. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get more missles. Any suggestions? If not, I'll just find something on-line. I also love the game "Myst," but the last time I played it, I messed up the ending. Oh woe is me. I got a new game I haven't started yet. It's called "Time Lapse". In it, you're an archaeologist (sounds interesting already, if you ask me) and you have to find the lost city of Atlantis. Ever play it?

By Solenoid (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Jeff plays Myst. He's a LEV member, but HE NEVER POSTS! (hint hint!) Jeff, there's Amanda's email - tell her how to win Myst already!

By Amanda (Starkindler) on Unrecorded Date:

I know how to win, I just messed up. *LOL* I'm having troubles with "Timelapse" though, if anyone can help?
