Well; if anyone is willing, they can play Magic online for FREE!

All you need is a deck and a friend...
and an internet connection. :)

Get Apprentice at Planeswalker.com under Apprentice 32 along with the newest decklist (currently Urza's Saga), make yourself a deck (or use one of the pre-made ones that comes with Apprentice) and you're ready to play!

Just find yourself a playmate (Anyone posting here will probably be more than happy to play at just about any time...) and have fun!

By Tony Lenzo (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Yeah, Jeff and I have done a couple of nights of Magic lately... our decks are both powerful AND well-matched. This makes for a very good game! None of this over-in-10-minutes stuff for me and Jeff... we just play for a long time!

We also listened to The Orb, the CD that Darren got me for X-mas!

Very Cool!

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

What? You don't like my red burn deck? ;>

By Bryan R. Cummings (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

Fred, we like your red burn deck, when we are not playing against it. :)

But wait till you meet my Red & Blue deck.

Sol, Darren and Jeff met it last weekend. It held its own, even against Sol's deck of white.

-Houdini

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

Ahhh, the unlikely coupling of two opposed forces--red & blue: fire & water... I enjoy this mixture as well. It forces people to do damage to themselves in ways they never knew their decks could damage... It is indeed a work of art. I like to call it "Liquid Heat".

----Greyfox...

By Tony Lenzo (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

That's a force to reckon with, surely... I like my white because it seems to do well in singles or in multis... I really do enjoy the multis the best these days, tho. I fear that my deck is going to soon suffer the Stuffed-Deck syndrome, maybe more Cycling is a good idea. A full set of ROPs would be great, and I can just toss as needed. VERY powerful. No pain. Especially ROP Red and ROP Green. Jeff's back to his old tricks w/ Pestilence, tho... The only way to beat Pestilence is by having the most life and let him burn himself down. Of course, you must also ensure that he can't protect himself from Pestilence, which he seems to do rather well. I've made good use of Divine Offering on his Artifacts, tho - bye bye Urza's Armor, 6 life for me. Yah! Also great on powerful artifact creatures. I like it. I really enjoy the Pure White. Banders provide an easy way to make an impenetrable wall - fast way, too. I could go on, but I won't.

Darren, enjoying your new 130?

By Tony Lenzo (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

When's new Urza coming out?
Wizards was rude and elitist when I asked what the next expansion would be called...

"That hasn't been revealed to the PUBLIC yet."

Anyone been to wizard's homepage lately?

By Jeff Montgomery (Jeff) on Unrecorded Date:

I WHOOPED Bry & Tony's BUTTTTTT this weekend!

I whacked off Bry's head with three... count them, THREE 10/10 creatures!

Tonight (Sunday), I whacked off Tony's head with about 10 3/3 creatures, all created the same way as the 10/10s. :)

Muahahahahahahaahahaaa!

Muahahahahahah...! right back at 'ye! ;>

By Tony Lenzo (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

That's right, I am the Champion of the Day. Best 4/7 wins Champion of the Week. That means I only have to win 1 more, Jeff - and you have to win 2 more. I also found some special new surprises for you!

Surprises! he he

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Champion of the Week! Best 4/7! Yeah!
Empyrial Armour Saves the Day!

Jeff's total: 3 games, he needs 2 more to catch me (pasted me by destroying all my plains). The championship of the Millenium continues! And the crowd goes nuts!

By Jeff Montgomery (Jeff) on Unrecorded Date:

Tony won the millenium........:(

Time to tune! :)

- Jeff

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Don't forget the second!

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Yeah! I won Millenium again! I won all the titles for the 2nd time in a row:
man of the second
man of the minute
man of the hour
man of the day
man of the week
man of the year
man of the decade
man of the century
man of the millenium

ALAS, Jeff won second AND minute in our 3rd foray, he has tuned his pestilence deck into something more evil than could ever be imagined.

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

My fav was putting 3 Empyrial Armours on my Warrior Angel. At one point she was a 28/29 creature that gave me 1 life for every damage she did. Unfortunately, Jeff had out his skinny bridge which prevented such a large creature from attacking. Still, it was more fun than could be imagined.

By Bryan R. Cummings (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

On sunday I went through all of my cards and
entered them into a text file database using the
Apprentice 32 deck editor. Whoa, 502 cards!

Now that I have the cards in the deck editor
database, I can start testing out deck various deck configurations using the actual cards I own without thumbing through my real cards or
breaking existing decks up.

Cool! J

I wish someone would come out with a version
for Star Wars CCG. I'd love to play Star Wars
over the net.

By Bryan R. Cummings (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

Besides the killer blue-red deck which I shall
now keep as a permanant member of my magic arsenal. I'm working on developing a even better
slivers deck, and other naughty little suprises!

My next match is sure to be filled with fun. ;-)

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

I have designed an all NEW deck for Apprentice, featuring cards that I could never dream of owning in real life. Whenever you're ready, tough guy!

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

I'll get you Jeff

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

I just played Magic again for the first time in a while--I used the same decks and everything, against one of my friends who designed 2 new decks and half a black deck. I whooped him a bit, but the black deck ate me alive. kinda makes sense, tho, since he only had like, 40 cards in it, and it was using the rule of 4 with every card, so frequency and potency were both on his side. More L8R!

----Greyfox...

By Bryan (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

Has anyone heard anything good (or bad) about the Urza's Legend set? I was thinking of picking up a pack this weekend. Any info would be helpfull
thanks!

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

I think it is called "Urza's Legacy" and I went to Millenium to look at the Commons (that I can't buy because I am paying my loans) ;P

Yeah, there were some cute new cards, but nothing really screamed "GET ME." What can I say? My deck is pretty perfect.

By Rigel Nephridil (Nat) on Unrecorded Date:

Are you, by chance, refering to the "deck of OYE"?

I've heard about that one....

Nat

(ps: oye....)

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Oi! Oi! Oi!
My current deck is different, but I should put Little Brother Oi back together. It had regenerating trolls, and every time I'd play one, I would always say, "Oi!" Then I'd make 'em really strong with Feast of the Unicorn, then I'd make them fly, then they'd come out and wail on you. Sometimes, I could win in, like, 2 attacks. Ahhh, those were the days!

Oi!

And whenever you hear me say "Oi!" it probably started there!

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

Oi! I have a special card in my Yoda deck... It's called Verdant Force. As you know, Yoda likes his little fungus/saproling tokens (1/1 green creatures) which normally are produced every 3 turns (each generator needs 3 tokens to put a new sap' into play). Verdant force puts a sap' into play on EVERY PLAYER'S UPKEEP... I actually got to use it once in a multi-player game. Yoda became very strong very quickly with a horde of 1/1 creatures. We had 6 people playing, and after I got out enough mana (8) I put Verdant Force into play. I already had a couple Thallids and Saprolings in play, as well as Gorilla Berserkers, Island Sanctuary, and the Big 3: Howling Mine, Ivory Tower, Library of Leng. I was gaining life, and THEN... WHOMP! At the end of turn 9 I had 6 more saps. Then, next time I went, I had 12 saps. then, 18... I let 'em grow for a while... I think I grew, like, 54 or 63, then I played 2 overruns and a stampede on 'em, and kept my Gorillas and Serras and Verdant Force Himself back for defense, IF anybody survived... Let's do some math...

63 saprolings, all with +3/+3, +3/+3, and +2/+2 Trample... Also, I had out a creature which makes all green creatures +1/+1... So, a herd of crazed fungus-guys, all at 10/10, with trample, come a stampeding out of the swamps and attack everybody... I blew through creatures like they didn't exist... Somebody tried a fireball, but didn't have the mana to kill everything... Divide 630 points of damage between 5 players who weren't at full life anymore, anyway... That's an average of 126 life-points a piece! Needless to say, it was one of those perfect, crushing victories... I can't wait to do it again...

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Sounds like Yoda needed a Pestilence! Or at least some fungicide!

By Bryan (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

Hmm. Pestilence is good defense against thalid decks since most do not have protection from black.

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Yeah, Jeff bought a whole lot of Urza's Legacy. I have bought none yet, I deny myself during this time of abstinence from any extra spending. Actually, since Millenium games keeps well-stocked, I know they'll have plenty when I can afford them again. Also Jeff got a weird shiny magic card in a pack shiny! and we are trying to figure out if it is Ultra-Rare or what.
I want to visit the Wizards site and find out what is going on with these new cards, and I also love reading the story-line.

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Whew! You did it. You risked your neck to insure
Urza's SagaTM would happen just the way it was
supposed to. A happy ending.

Well, except for the fact that you can't really tell anyone
about your adventure.

After all, spilling coffee on the time portal is grounds for
being transformed into one of those lame phasing
creatures. Nobody wants that.

Uh oh. Here comes Urza and he doesn't look pleased.
Could he know?

"Hey," he mutters. "Who's the onulet that drank all my
coffee? Somebody must be itchin' to pull Karn-polishing
duty."

Ah . . . normalcy has been restored.

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

The next and final installment of Urza's Saga will be released soon, and will be called Urza's Destiny. That's all.

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Me 'n' Jeff have been playing a lot of Magic lately, esp over the break we did. I won't spoil our NEW stategies 4 you though, since you will all see them soon enough!

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Anyone have any cool Urza's Legacy cards? Anyone hear more about Urza's Destiny?

By Bryan (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

I now have one booster pack each of Urza's Legacy and Urza's Desitiny. Cool cards. Some I might even consider trading, some I will consider using to win games. YEAH BABY!

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Bryan, I think we should arrange a big Magic Day for the 25th, 26th, 27th. Okay, 3 days. Whatddya say?

I already have a great idea for a variant game of Magic... it'll be so cool! Details soon... mail me if you want the rules, and when I finish them I'll mail them to you!

My POINT:

Has anyone heard of these 2 new magic card sets, Masques and Nemesis? I have no idea what they're talking about. I went to the page looking for Urza's Destiny last week, and all I found was this... what could these 2 new and UNKNOWN sets be?

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Unrecorded Date:

Marketing. Wizards wants more money.

By Bryan (Houdini) on Unrecorded Date:

What is your review?

By Tony (Sol) on Unrecorded Date:

Well, I saw a little about it at wizards.com, but it tells precious little about the expansion. It does say that it is a sequel to The Weatherlight saga (Weatherlight, Tempest, Stronghold, and Exodus) and that there will be some special new Card Effects that let you bring cards YOU want to the top of your deck. It also mentions that they'll be putting out foil-lands so you can play an "all-shiny deck" ... shiny!

I was actually tired of Gerrard, and think they've dragged this Weatherlight theme on too long (Urza created the Weatherlight, so even these were tie-ins, making the total story 8 expansion sets long so far... I want something NEW!) Although I must say I enjoyed URZA and liked the tie-in to the PLANE of SERRA.

We will see! Sometime b4 end of month, the NEW cards will appear!
