The Lev Forum: Storyboard: Story Topic Discussion (Admin): Post Archives: June 2001-June 2004
By Margravine (Ranger) on Friday, June 01, 2001 - 09:58 am:

an illusionist might be something Crane can use in the final destruction of Fujiyama since the general feeling is that he should get the coup this time....hmmm.

I've gotta go back and reread to see if I garner any inspriration too. I think we might be in the final stages of the Fujiyama saga with only a 'chapter' or two to go, and then a wrap up of any outstanding subplots of which we have a few.

Are these new big fat blue seperaters gunky in anyone else's view?

By Technomage (Houdini) on Friday, June 01, 2001 - 10:31 am:

That is the style they went to in the lastest greatest version of the forum software.

They suposedly can take "skins" now so I am in the process of trying to find a skin that gives the board a cleaner look.

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Friday, June 01, 2001 - 04:01 pm:

I still think we should design a skin that has a black background and green text with highlights.

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Friday, June 15, 2001 - 05:14 pm:

kewl post, Jon! Welcome to LEV. I actually might start writing again... Once my schedule settles down a bit and I get settled into the routine... Hmmm... What character should I create? decisions, decisions... ;>

By Vengence is Mine (Knight_Hawk) on Monday, June 25, 2001 - 09:28 am:

Ranger great post, one problem however. In my post I had stated that Tyler walked back out of the room the way he came in and not into the room Spyder was in. But this works out better to get Tyler involved and adds doubts to whether or not he is still foggy.

By Margravine (Ranger) on Friday, July 27, 2001 - 11:23 am:

Okay, now hear this, I intend to go back and thoroughly re-read the entire SR story line (part 2) in hopes of kick starting this dinosaur once again. If successful, I intend to drag the other authors back on board kicking and screaming if need be - I don't like having it dangling for some reason - so be warned...I have it in my power to give all your characters nasty pimples on the ends of their noses....

bwahahahahahahaha

~ Only slightly nuts at his point...wait for it....

Okay...there ya go.
Do with it what you will.

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Monday, November 12, 2001 - 03:28 pm:

I posted in Shadowrun...
I posted in The Matrix...
I re-read ALL of VAXMigrator, Shadowrun, Deadwood City, and The Matrix...
My real question is:

WHEN ARE THE REST OF YOU GONNA JUMP BACK IN?!?!???

I anxiously await your measured response... :)

By Ms. Vice (Nat) on Monday, November 12, 2001 - 04:08 pm:

My hard-drive is dying, so I'm not using my computer at home much until I can get 1) a new hard drive, 2) An unterruptable power supply. I have major voltage dips in my apartment, and I think that's why my hard drive is on it's way out so soon.

Doing SR stuff at work is a no-no.

Other then that, busy, busy, busy. Running to grandma's house twice a week (oye...), gym twice a week (it used to be three until gramps kicked the bucket), my love-life is a major time-drainer, I'm in the process of repairing the cracked walls in my apartment (messy, very messy) and then there's veg-out time.

Things are very different for me since last year when I was my grandmother's prisoner. Now instead of having free time, I have a lot more to do.

I'm also completely dry for ideas. I have no clue what I want to do with my characters at this point, or how to move forward with the plot. I've been in touch with Faye over email about this, but I haven't been too good with giving input as of late.

Fred- I will call you tonite. I called u last night, u didn't call back. =P

By Margravine (Ranger) on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 - 06:41 pm:

Since I have practically no online time at this point it is problematical. I will print out the last couple of pages and see if my brain can handle anything more esoteric the 'baby cry...feed baby...sleep...baby cry...feed baby...sleep....
well, you get the idea....

By Ms. Vice (Nat) on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 - 10:07 am:

Yay Supermommy! Don't worry about it Faye, taking care of a baby is tough work. I find it impossible to think of anything creative when I haven't had a solid 8 hours of sleep. So it must be a million times worse for you right now =(

By Vengence is Mine (Knight_Hawk) on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 - 11:23 am:

I have as of this time not been motivated to be creative at all. I think finals and the worry of failing classes on my last semester have something to do with it. When I get a hold of something I'll let you all be the first to know.

By Yo' Daddy (Sol) on Monday, January 14, 2002 - 10:34 am:

I was toying with the idea of doing a miniseries in Storyboard where Spiffy Ninja and Little Banjo become room-mates, plus all the crazy hi-jinks they embark upon. Kool!

I'd love to put in 2 installments a week. It'd be naughty!

The post really a collaberation with Nat, so read and be inspired authors.

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Wednesday, February 27, 2002 - 04:09 pm:

OK, so I wrote a post in Shadowrun, after reading the archives again from the point where Barge was taken. Only 1 story-day has gone by, albeit a VERY LONG, ARDUOUS story-day. I can't believe we all missed the whole very obvious bit that John Fujiyama is able to monitor his cyber soldiers through their enhancements. PLUS, he's got what, 14 more of em or something? I'm thinking another climactic battle is about to happen before we get a chance to exterminate Fujiyama at Greenswag. In fact, I'm thinking that if we live through another attempt on our lives, Fujiyama will be fresh outta cards.

this one has got to be it, then. the Final Scene. The Money Shot. The Grand Finale. I just gotta hammer out some action sequences before I tackle my logical next step. I think it's time for Fujiyama to die already and for the good guys to take a vacation. Hell, I'll even have Dawson tag along with Dallas on his ork-slaying investigations once Fuj is done in.

And this all means that I get to think up another, even MORE sinister villain for us to tackle... Or, maybe, one of you guys could do that, too.. :)

By Margravine (Ranger) on Thursday, February 28, 2002 - 09:42 am:

Actually I think its been at least two days since Barge was snatched. I think I wrote in one of his scenes something like 30 hours had passed since the grab. It did take our guys a bit of time to find him. I'll go back and check.

If you want to end it here I think we should avoid a repeat of the ware house fight. maybe a running battle with players falling out and joining in along the way.

We'll confab after I go back for a reread, bubula.

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Thursday, February 28, 2002 - 11:18 am:

well, what I meant by that was the fact that our guys did not sleep AT ALL until Barge was rescued. So, it SEEMS like 1 story-day, even though it may have been 30 hours, whatever (which is more than 1 day, but if you are awake the whole time it seems like ONE LONG day) That's all. :) ciao!

By Technomage (Houdini) on Friday, March 01, 2002 - 08:23 am:

Once again I have to say I've really enjoyed
reading Shadowrun. I can't wait to read the next installment! :)

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Friday, March 01, 2002 - 01:15 pm:

And so it was that I posted the next catalyst plot device for VAXMigrator. I await Eric's ideas for our collaborative post, but events have been set in motion that cannot easily be reversed. Soon, I will make a post outlining other ships which have 'deserted' and joined the Union of Border Worlds, and I may even write something from Nimitz' perspective and the "New Terran Order". Perhaps some non-combat, suspenseful writing is in order? Perhaps some writing for rebel cells on Earth itself, or daring missions by away teams? Who knows what the future holds, but I can tell you that if you are a fan of fleet battles, have no fear... I got a doozy of a fleet battle brewing in my brainium, I just gotsta set it up first.

Oh, and Bry, what prophecy were you thinking of? I am unfamiliar with such prophecies. Please, enlighten us (you can't really just mention a prophecy and expect one of the other authors to pull a random prophecy outta their butt). So, if ya mention a prophecy, follow through with it, don't let it dangle, OK? Cool. Write on! :)

By IITYWIMWYBMAD (Smokeduster) on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 08:19 pm:

VAXMigrator

Fred,

I posted part 1 of the post i have for the Andromeda. If you want, maybe we can have the missing friendly Hades Cruiser show up at Paradox station. I figure game-timewise the Andromeda will probably be in drydock about 1 to 3 days tops to get the engines completely up to snuff, as Paradox station is as equipped as a Terran shipyard, worker wise.

I also posted the tech's for the Andromeda, other ships of her class (Estanian lt cruiser) It appears I forgot 2 things tho. The crew and the weapon specs for the her energy weapons. I'll try to get those in tomorrow afternoon, or to you and you can edit the post.

I should have the other half of the post in by Tuesday morning.

By Margravine (Ranger) on Thursday, March 07, 2002 - 04:41 pm:

I started working on a post for SR which starts with Fujiyama's frustrations - he's really miffed right now. I don't think I've ever written the baddie POV before. It'll be shortish and hopefully will lead to a set up of bigger and bloodier things. If I read things right, Fuj has to be out of the Arcology to keep track of his droids since its his personal project and not linked to Renraku whose funds and resources he's seemed to have usurped. Naughty Fuj.

Course GF is all Vaxie these days so I don't expect an appearance in Seattle too soon there. It's funny how these things go in spurts.

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Friday, March 08, 2002 - 03:42 pm:

you want for me to write for shadowrun?

I can write for shadowrun.

We shall speak this saturday.

Though, I DO have like, the next 5 or 6 posts in sequence for VAXMigrator lined up in my brain... :)

I don't obsess too much, do I? L8R.

By Margravine (Ranger) on Saturday, March 09, 2002 - 11:05 am:

I don't want you to hurt yourself, now. Go ahed and Vax :). SR has been sluggish for months it'll spurt one of these days too. Kind of icky imagery but you get the idea. Be happy to plot storm though...

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Tuesday, March 19, 2002 - 11:21 am:

VAXMigrator:

Wow. Alot has been happening in here, and I've been in contact with both Eric and Darren on getting this story rolling. I've been trying to get in touch with Sol, too, but have not yet gotten hold of him (must be busy and stuff). Anyway, just writing here so we're all on the same page...

The way I see it, VAXMigrator is still out by Zarcon, travelling through realspace to Ghorant'Ess system. Seems like 3 days have gone by out there since the announcement. Day 2 was Mac having his death-on-the-bridge vision and day 3 is the flight meeting. let's use that timeframe as reference...

Day 1 saw the Andromeda getting to Paradox station, shortly thereafter (early day 2, perhaps) the Cerberus showed up and that little battle happened, the rock destroyed Pegasus Station, and on day 3 the probe relayed its message to Earth and Nimitz told the Cylons to "pick up" the survivors.

Day 1 saw the Hades, Hellstrike, Dante, Inferno, and Sheffield meeting, then running out to New Bangkok in the Altaire system. Day 2 was when captain Striker and Captain Moore had dinner on the Durango. Day 3, after travelling in realspace, they will have made it to New Bangkok.

Now, I know Eric has a story arc set up which will develop Mac, I don't wanna ruin it, but it will happen either before VAXMigrator gets to Ghorant'Ess or JUST AS we get there. Either way, the 'Migrator has about 4-5 more days until she reaches Ghorant'Ess. For reference, we are STILL out on the other side of Alpha-Tori, in UNMAPPED space, which is why Greyfox and Philo are having meetings to create navigable star-charts.

We would have no idea what's going on back in Terran space right now, until we jumped back within communications range. When we jump Ghorant'Ess, we will end up in Altaire system, on our way to New Bangkok. That's where our new fleet is massing.

Just for referencem, I count 4 hades cruisers, 2 sheffields, 1 ajax, and 1 durango in Altaire, and 1 hades cruiser and the Andromeda in Centaris, which gives us 5 total hades cruisers, 2 sheffields, 1 ajax, 1 durango, 1 Estanian, and 1 battlestar, so far (11 ships)

Not quite enough to face a force of 35 basestars yet, is it? :)

Hope this post was helpful in getting everybody on the same page. Also, Sol, I noted some really minor inconsitencies in your post with Sonya, and I took the liberty of correcting them, hope you don't mind. (You had Quicksilver as a man, when she's a woman, and Sonya is actually a major, you had her as a lieutenant, and I assigned her a support role, cuz I REALLY doubt you want Maniac ordering her around, and this way, you can even have Bean be your copilot.)

Great writing everybody, and I look forward to reading this thing as it gets more intricate...

By Yo' Daddy (Sol) on Tuesday, March 19, 2002 - 12:57 pm:

Fred, you are RIGHT! Thanks for the corrections U posted. I remember all that stuff now, how did I forget?

Some really good stuff going on! I'll read on and post more soon!

Sol

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 10:07 am:

I was busy writing that last LONG post with Maniac and MacBride, and posted it before I had a chance to write a proper Philo response to Sol's question while working on Data. SO, I went back into Sol's post and wrote a funny little Philo snippet right there. so, go back and re-read it, and get a good chuckle. :)

Also, Sol, I had a really hard time understanding your most recent post... I figure it was Mac who said "Quicksilver's Team" and then Bean who said the "I'll owe you a drink" but who do you have saying that line in-between "Yeah, she's my Trainer's SO"? and I assume SO means 'Superior Officer'? please help?

By Yo' Daddy (Sol) on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 11:04 am:

Yah, sorry for the confusion. My bad. An SO is a Senior Officer. Also, Bean said TWO lines in a row, bad formatting. I'll fix that up for clarity!

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 11:18 am:

cool thanks.

:)

Did you read my Philo bit yet?

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 - 12:39 pm:

ok, you can call me anal, but I just did a scale analysis of a battlestar model, and using a complex system of measurements and formulae came up with the following proportions for the side sponsons on a battlestar...

First of all, they is 1000 meters long, 250 meters wide, and 125 meters tall. The entrance to the landing bay which runs the entire length of the sponson is located in the rear, and it is 130 meters wide and 40 meters tall. Now, the front and rear of the sponsons kinda taper in a little before ending, so I figure it's a safe bet to allow for an internal landing bay surface width of 200 meters even. This allows for 25 meters on either side to allow for hull thickness, fighter storage, and launch tubes, which I think is more than reasonable. rough total surface area for the flight decks in the sponsons would work out to be 20,000 square meters, or 20 square kilometers, or 7.72 square miles. That's alot of space. And a battlestar has 2 of these things. not to mention the space above the 50-meter tall interior (which is another 50 meters, there could be decks or storage or WHATEVER up there) and the 25 meters BELOW the flight deck (which I would assume would be mechanic facilities, like, allow for a 2-meter thick deck and a 3-meter thick hull, which allows 20 meters of interior space down there which is roughly 60 feet. Plenty of room for fighter storage, mechanics, etc.)

So for those of you who doubted a ship 180 meters long and 120 meters wide would fit into the landing bay (ERIC) I present for you this hard data as proof that it can. Thank you, good night. :)

By Yo' Daddy (Sol) on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 - 12:54 pm:

I read Philo - it was pretty cute!

Sol

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 - 05:20 pm:

Sol, Eric was actually working on a response to your post where Bean talks to Mac... Just, his posts are slower than ours cuz he doesn't have internet access at home. If you wanted a bit of interaction before Mac leaves, it'll be in there. Just be patient a second and his post will be up, hopefully by the end of the week.

Also, Darren's putting up a 2-parter this week as well. Just some shared knowledge for y'all...

By Yo' Daddy (Sol) on Wednesday, March 27, 2002 - 12:51 pm:

Ah - I see! Thanx Fred! I thought Mac already got written onto a new subplot in your post, but I can slide w/ it! :D

Awesome!

By Yo' Daddy (Sol) on Thursday, March 28, 2002 - 08:35 pm:

Darren, I love your new character, Arach'Nor! Crisis Management expert, ha ha ha, he's awesome! I have a feeling we'll see some interesting developments from this mysterious character!

Sol

By Yo' Daddy (Sol) on Thursday, March 28, 2002 - 08:53 pm:

Ha, here's a post that didn't happen. A COOL idea, but it seemed to cause too many problems that I didn't like, so it ended up on the cutting room floor:

VAXMigrator Outtakes

Sol is very quiet. "Admiral Nimitz. It was he who killed you."

"Nimitz?" says Data surprised, "Do you mean council-chief Nimitz? He has not occupied the position of Fleet-Admiral for over twenty years. What is he doing away from Earth?"

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Friday, March 29, 2002 - 11:05 am:

Well, I have some good news. Eric informs me he has written his long-awaited post concerning Mac and the Erikson and stuff like that. I am going to see Eric this Saturday, so IF my DSL is back up today (like it's SUPPOSED to be) we shall see it on Sunday. Otherwise, I'll hafta post it from work, in which case it will hafta wait until monday. He says it's LONG, so look forward to some serious fun readin.

Sol, cool post with Data. I guess he doesn't know Greyfox is back or any of that, since all that info was removed from the computers, the only backup residing in Data's brain. So, he'll be in for a brand new surprise when he meets Greyfox again, huh? I think that would be the first course of action, actually, having a little sit-down between Data and Greyfox to discuss recent events. Who knows, perhaps even a brevet promotion to Captain. That will all depend on how well Data handles the memory lapse and lost time, and IF he is deemed 'fit for command'. How would the rest of the crew feel about following the leadership of an android, etc etc etc...

BUT, I digress. Data is back, which on one hand will be weird for the crew, but on the other hand is kinda cool. It might be interesting to see how he interacts with a full crew complement, rather than just the skeleton crew of construction. ALSO, how will he handle going to war and stuff like that, considering we'll be fighting against esentially other confed guys. Anyway, I have spoken too long already. NAUGHTY ME. I must return to work now. Byebye

Moving house this week. Don't anyone wait on any VAX posts from me for at least 7-10 days.

By Ms. Vice (Nat) on Sunday, April 14, 2002 - 01:20 am:

You guys have a new house!?!?!?!? I've been out of touch fo a while, forgive me!!!!!!!!!

By Margravine (Ranger) on Sunday, April 14, 2002 - 10:18 am:

Not a whole house actually, just a slightly bigger chunk of the one we're already in. Couple of staircase move rather than a couple mile move - but just as big a pain in the arse.

And thanks to the helpful gnomes that showed up and moved stuff with us....

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Monday, April 15, 2002 - 09:39 am:

gnomes? GNOMES?!?

Is that all we've become, is gnomes? hrrrmmmph. :)

Oh and ummm, as I said last night: I ain't moving that upstairs crap back down those frickin EVIL stairs again, so if you ever decide to move again, I'm letting you know right now that I have the flu, I gotta work, my mom & dad require me to help them clean the septic tank with a brillo pad, I haveta spend the day stapling my fingers to a board, and I can't make it. :) Sorry.

You're welcome, by the way.

By Vengence is Mine (Knight_Hawk) on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 - 08:53 am:

Uh yeah about those stairs, um if you ever do decide to move again I'm coming over with a recipricating saw and cutting a hole in the wall to throw the stuff out of. Either that or cut the banester of the EVIL stairs.

And whats this about gnomes? I only go so far as Dwarf myself.

By Ms. Vice (Nat) on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 - 12:00 pm:

Oh boo hoo =)... I live in a six storey walk-up (top floor, no less), I have no sympathy for you, Damien =) MAUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 - 12:25 pm:

yeah, but Nat, it wasn't the actual STAIRS that we're whining about. It's the way they go up 3 steps to a landing, then switch back on themselves at a STEEP angle due to the pitch of the roof. I hafta DUCK to go up the stairs or else take off the top 3 inches of my skull. And the railing there is all one piece, so you can imagine trying to squeeze a queen-sized mattress through a 6 foot by 3 foot hole angled up at 50 degrees, AFTER maneuvering it around the railing on the landing, which is actually EXACTLY the size of a double mattress (I know cuz I was able to lay it down on the landing completely flat).

NOW do you see the situation? This is why we call the stairs EVIL. even Eric will tell you... it wasn't the walking up and down of stairs that killed us, it was the sharp angles and small spaces through which we had to fit LARGE pieces of furniture. It was like playing retarded tetris with the stairwell, only less fun.

Except for when Damien got stuck under the box spring and nearly tore his pants off. THAT was funny. And when I tugged on the queen mattress real hard and squished Eric under it, THAT was funny too... :)

By Vengence is Mine (Knight_Hawk) on Thursday, April 18, 2002 - 10:32 am:

HHEEEYYYY!

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Thursday, April 18, 2002 - 03:36 pm:

Alright, now to get things back on topic here since we all took off on that side-road of Eric's move... Sol, get in touch with me, cuz I really wanna include Data in the VAXMig story, but I dunno where you wanna take him, character-wise. I mean, I can write for Data based on the Next Gen episodes/movies, but I don't know where you want to take him as YOUR character. Do you want him to be captain? we can do that. Let me know, and we'll work out some story arcs for him. Also, I am hammering out a nebulous idea for a really cool post, but it involves a little bit from everybody, so I shall be getting in contact with the authors soon... This is gonna be FUN. L8R!

By Yo' Daddy (Sol) on Thursday, April 18, 2002 - 05:19 pm:

Yeah, as usual my time for writing is very little. Better keep Data on ice for now. Please feel free to proceed without me, I am sure I'll write some more when I have the time to do some reading and writing. Cheers!

By Starlit simulacron (Ranger) on Wednesday, April 24, 2002 - 09:04 am:

Brain cranking along slowly - SR may be saved despite our continuity errors. Slowly is the operative word here....

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Friday, May 17, 2002 - 03:02 pm:

Umm, oddly enough, I have become inspired to write for Star Wars (I wonder why?) :) so I wrote a snippet for Julian... I thought it was cool, but you guys can tell me what you think of it and if you hate it whatever... I just re-read it and it seems Damien parked a couple of dreadnoughts up in orbit... I have some plans on where to take the story, and I think I can keep the power levels separate, cuz Haran and Rogan cannot take on the same types of baddies as Julian... Anyway, you get to see a little bit of lightsaber action, and hopefully, soon, I'll write a nice lightsaber duel sequence... We shall see...

:)

By Starlit simulacron (Ranger) on Friday, May 24, 2002 - 12:02 pm:

Read it. Knowing Julian as I do, not to mention Airk (my preferred spelling) Starstorm, Kind looks like the power level on that thing just achieved escape velocity -- rendering poor Rogan and Haran (who,in my opinion, had a very cool intro) little more than taxi drivers.

Think I'll have her go blow something up somewhere. And :p *thbbbb* to you force users, for you I got just two words: Han Solo.

;)

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 - 11:32 am:

I was planning on keeping it all low-key. I just wanted to have a lightsaber duel between Julian and Starstorm. Not yet, of course, and I will do my best not to "upstage" Haran and Rogan. The ship is Haran's, so Julian isn't gonna go and jump in the pilot's seat. If we're on the ground, and stuff needs to get done, Haran and Rogan can have very exciting adventures, and Julian can be like "Oh, I'll take care of this" for like 'disable the tractor beam' type errands. It can still be a great story, even with the power levels of Julian and Starstorm. Anyway, whatever, I won't be writing there for a while cuz I gots stuff to catch up on. L8R. (I'll be over tonight; see ya then)

By Starlit simulacron (Ranger) on Sunday, June 02, 2002 - 01:09 pm:

Like Dallas, I just make this stuff up as I go, and at this point I don't have an entirely clear picture of the next move for our intrepid heroes, but I trust faithfully that something will fall out of the pen. Hopefully a bit sooner than a month from now.

Now all I have to do (in addition to Dallas)is figure out something for Haran, Treat, Cele, Thaddeus, and Matthias to do. I think that's all my contingent on this board.

By Starlit simulacron (Ranger) on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 - 03:03 pm:

Random thoughts....

just saw The Marix again....

By Starlit simulacron (Ranger) on Friday, June 21, 2002 - 02:36 pm:

If and this is a BIG if - seeing the vast wasteland that once was a thriving lev (I know I'm busy too) - we get the star wars topic moving again any one who wants to fly out on Haran's ship please let me know or post something to that effect, otherwise I'll assume her passengers found other options and are not on board when and if we finally take off.

I have too many characters (and story lines) bouncing around in my brain....

By Ms. Vice (Nat) on Friday, June 28, 2002 - 01:06 pm:

okay, I have begin writing a bit for Spyder and Crane with the greenswag-go-boom project. Faye- if you have any ideas/storylines you really wanna do email me. I don't want to mess up anything you have in mind =)

Well, the story topics have been quiet for a long time now. Have we really run out of creative things to do in the stories? :) Just as a reference, I found a really good picture of a 1953 ferrari 375 MM (Ray's SPIFF car) and so I'll be posting that here. The pictures depict like a cream-colored car, but Ray's is black, I think...

Hmmm... I have decided to write a little something for Shadowrun. Soon, I have decided. Gathering thoughts now. Inspiration strikes in odd flavors... How do we wanna kill Fuj? Nat, you wanna do it with Crane, I guess. Dallas and Dawson are gonna catch heat from lackies sent to extinguish Tyler and them... Damien, you could write a fight sequence between your mysterious "Rogue" and Tyler. hmmm... Perhaps this shall be the end of book 2... we shall see...

By Ms. Vice (Nat) on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 - 10:17 pm:

Ah yes, Faye and I were discussing stuff about SR, you should talk to her about this too... I am in the (often interrupted) process of a post for Spyder and Crane at Greenswag. Call me if you want da 411 =) Or I can call you after 8, I have a ton of evening minutes- no cost to u... I'm behind on all my email (sorry Faye =(...

By Ms. Vice (Nat) on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 - 10:57 pm:

...And while we're playing show-and-tell, here's a little something I'm workin on for my professional demo reel- still a work-in-progress. Guess who.
who could this be?

By Ms. Vice (Nat) on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 02:21 pm:

Don't tell me nobody's guessed.

By Starlit simulacron (Ranger) on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 03:15 pm:

Crane! Dude! How's it hangin'?

Not to worry about email Nat I couldn't get into mine for a couple of days anyway... I've actually been pretty busy with this 'work' stuff too. Hmph.

Hope to confab with the authors soon though - and if not read fresh prose so as to ignite the very tiny inspirational flame that now glows.

Geez, it looks like I know how to write, though.

By Starlit simulacron (Ranger) on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 03:25 pm:

Gads, I actually used the word 'dude'

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 04:37 pm:

Wow. Lookin GOOD, Nat! He even kinda looks like that Ray-Ban model you showed me waaaaaaaay back when you came up with Crane as a character. Your skills are improving, young padawan... :)

So, Spyder and Crane is gonna run off and hit Greenswag, while Dallas and Dawson drive Tyler around with the White Tigers for backup... Hmmm, plan formulating... Body count rising... >EVIL LAUGH< I was thinking of a little scene where Dallas is driving Tyler around, shadowed by white tigers, and driving right on out of the city into a pre-designated "ambush" site. Hopefully, Golden Dragon goons will come following, and a real slaughterfest can ensue. Kinda like in Lethal Weapon, where Mel Gibson is like a mile away in the desert with his sniper rifle and Danny Glover shows up to get his daughter back? Only it'll be a little different, cuz the bad guys will be coming to kill Dallas, Tyler, and Dawson, and Dawson will be off with the sniper rifle, and the White Tigers can come flying in by helicopter or some such crap. Just random thoughts, mind you... L8R.

By Starlit simulacron (Ranger) on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 05:01 pm:

Do they have verticle thrust vehicles available in SR world? Its melding with Cyberpunk and I can't recall...

Oh, hey, GF... there ain't no desert in Seattle :D
I like a cityscape for the showdown, lots of ambush roomand dark spaces, but that's just my 2 cents.

Maybe we can work in some of the extraneous characters that have popped up from time to time in the story...like the elf gang D & D ran into down in Puyallup, or Leilani, or well, whomever - who's still alive?

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 07:45 pm:

got me. I know we are, but umm... :) yes, there are what is called "vectored thrust" vehicles in shadowrun... People call them "banshees" and they is used primarily by UCAS or corporate security. Also, there is the stonewall main battle tank which uses similar technology, but that is fielded primarily by CAS with limited use in certain of the NAN. But that's a main battle tank, read "80 tons of mechanized death set to hover". other than that, you got choppers, cars, hovercraft, and conventional aircraft and bikes. You get the picture...

And I know there isn't a desert in Seattle, DUH. :)

By Ms. Vice (Nat) on Friday, July 19, 2002 - 09:07 am:

Yup, it be Crane. The Cigar goes to Faye. I can't wait to finish the modeling so I can move on to texturing, that's when it will look more life-like.

I forgot to call Fred... Must remember to call Fred and discuss SR-ness.

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Friday, July 19, 2002 - 12:17 pm:

I actually wrote my post right after yours, Nat, but got too busy and forgot to hit the 'post now' button. And Faye HATES cigars, besides.

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Friday, July 19, 2002 - 01:59 pm:

so, Faye, I was actually gonna write a little mood-setting intro for Dawson and Dallas today. perhaps later this evening when the east coast goes home from work and the west coast doesn't feel like calling us anymore... See ya tomorrow and stuff.

Plugging away one post a month - slow but steady wins the race.

AND if you read the Li post and the Fuj post guess who outguessed who and guess who's heading toward a little old head on with, well, heck, EVERYBODY.

I'll get back to my main character eventually, too.

I see it. I am trying to think of stuff here, but have been HECTIC due to our "restructuring" and my focus on ensuring that as a result of restructuring I come out on top, with more pay, in a better position, etc... Corporate maneuvering and whatnot. Also, been workin on this acting thing. I shall re-read several back posts and write something if you want.

I would have made an illusion of the reality.
A reality of the illusion.
Another words the people or the crowd in the club they first see are not really there.
They are some sort of an illusion.
Created through a hologram, Hypnotised or something simular.
The next day they think what happened was a dream.

You cannot have a character called Ray in WoD, too. I hope he's all ready some one's entree. ;)

I'll try and come up with something if you like - do you want Suki or should I bring in someone new or both? I know Camille at least knows Suki (in one existence, anyway) and they have the same general attitude about their own kind, but I was never real up on the ins and outs of the vamp politics in that universe.

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Wednesday, November 06, 2002 - 04:43 pm:

why not? Camille is powerful, and I suspect Suki is at least similarly powered. Also, I was planning on integrating most of the characters we already established into this story, so we'll have Garou fighting vamps fighting immortals, etc etc etc... Eventually, perhaps not right away.

By the way, how was your trip northwards?

By Vengence is Mine (Knight_Hawk) on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 - 10:58 pm:

Hey Fred I looked it up and the name of the ship in WC III is in fact the TCS Victory.

As I suspected. :)

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Thursday, January 23, 2003 - 02:14 pm:

Faye, do you still have any adventure notes from any of our Star Wars campaigns? If so, we should sit down and start compiling them into some sort of cohesive story. Perhaps we can even seek official licensing from Lucas. I was talking to some guys here at work and they said that the story is really good and we should pursue doing something about it. Anyway, just a thought. I need to start thinking about storyboard posting again, as well as adventure ideas for our D&D campaign... See ya friday.

By Vengence is Mine (Knight_Hawk) on Friday, February 28, 2003 - 04:11 pm:

I'm on a mission -

By Starlit simulacron (Ranger) on Sunday, June 22, 2003 - 12:58 pm:

I'v been trying to figure out chronology in the SR story. The way it looks to me is
day one is the meeting at Dallas' apartment between him and Ray
day two is thattack on Dawson and the meeting with Li
day three is the meeting with Seaton
day four or five is the move to the bolt hole
day six is Dallas and Lily's date
day seven or eight is the death of Bertram and Speedy
day nine is Dallas' fight with Sparkplug
day ten is Barge's kidnapping
day twelve Barge's rescue and new bolt hole
day fourteen (?) Crane's bomb at the golfcourse

Does this work for everyone? Did I forget any major blocks of time anywhere? If I get inspired I hope to get something down in the forseeable future that could lead us to a conclusion. I hate loose ends.

oh my GOODNESS I have been off this board for a while. Just re-read some of SR--GREAT STUFF. And, seeing as how I now have some, shall we say, FREE TIME, I might just write a little something to add to the stuff Faye has been posting. Amazing how the AP seemed to suck all the creativity outta my brain. OWWIE! well, off to sleep... Farewell to all for now...

By I, (Ranger) on Thursday, October 23, 2003 - 12:55 pm:

Don't tease.
I've been trying to think all the thoughts involved in putting a cap on that SR story, but I admit I've strayed and have been (gasp) writing another chain story elsewhere.

Let me know if we're gearing up for a conclusion

Okay so now that I have taken the promotion to full time and have been transfered to a very slow branch I have had time to work on my final post for sr and am well into it. Just a heads up to my fellow sr authors so they are prepared for it.

I wrote something. I have an idea how to wrap this up. Will speak with the authors soon...

By Vengence is Mine (Knight_Hawk) on Friday, May 28, 2004 - 05:45 pm:

Well my post is done I just have to do some rereads and make sure I'm not stepping on too many toes and I'll post it. I had a lot of fun writeing this post, I found it hard to stop writing at times, so I hope you enjoy it. As this is my final post for SR I leave it up to the more than capible hands of Ranger, and the somewhat credible at times thought processes of Grey Fox. Just kidding man I have really enjoyed posting in this story and hope that the rest of you did too.

By I, (Ranger) on Saturday, May 29, 2004 - 10:29 am:

'Too many toes'? So that means you are stepping on some toes? Uh-oh.

:D

By Vengence is Mine (Knight_Hawk) on Tuesday, June 01, 2004 - 01:29 pm:

Okay I did a major revision on my post and added a new ending so I hope you like it and if not I don't care. No deposit no return.

By I, (Ranger) on Wednesday, June 02, 2004 - 02:18 pm:

Ooooooooh, very diplomatic. :D

The rules have always been that you can do whatever the heck you want to your own character. Maim, kill, crossdress. You just can't do any of that to anyone else's character without express permission. So you have a free hand as far as Tyler goes. You don't need our approval. Have at it.

By I, (Ranger) on Wednesday, June 02, 2004 - 02:24 pm:

Not bad, D. Interesting twist: the girl's connection to Tyler and your decision to off her too.
Fuj is such a bad, bad guy.

By Vengence is Mine (Knight_Hawk) on Wednesday, June 02, 2004 - 03:06 pm:

Well to tell the trutht only a few things changed from the origanal post. Spelling of names for one, two in the origanal Tylor told Dawson to meet Meiko, and third I added in her death scene as a way of removing any characters and loose ends I had to the story. I had come to relize that as a team Spyder, Crane, Dallas and Dawson were hard to beat and really don't need another member in their ranks. So it is because of this I have decided not to participate in the next chapter should there be one. I look forward to reading it but will focus on other things like our star wars forum or maybe even finishing one of my many stories.

By Vengence is Mine (Knight_Hawk) on Wednesday, June 02, 2004 - 03:10 pm:

Also in the first revision Fuj did it himself after she is caught destroying all but the last two super soldiers. But then he would've had to have been at his office and we've kinda alluded to the fact that he isn't. So go on as if there are only 2 left and do what you like to em. Maybe one of them killed Meiko; hmmm.

By I, (Ranger) on Thursday, June 03, 2004 - 12:43 pm:

As for our finale... there is always the possibility that Dallas' brother might show up. A while back I introduced him when the info request for Dallas came across Ray Whitecrow's desk. So Rayford knows little bro is in some kind of trouble. Plus Seaton - a lone star - considers Ray (Dawson)and Dallas as his contractors and also knows they are in hot water - maybe we can bring in some cops...and we all ready did the Indian war party kind of thing :)

By Who is the (Knight_Hawk) on Friday, June 11, 2004 - 12:22 pm:

But little did Julian realize that Marvin had hooked himself to the chess table so that as the game wore on his batteries slowly drained. Marvin just hoped that master Julian wouldn't recharge him this time and he could end his depressing exiastance.

(evil grin) Marvin always was a lot of fun to interact with wasn't he. I just didn't want to put that in the acctual story but I also couldn't resist.

OK, this isn't the appropriate place to have this particular pi$$ing match. So, let's talk about the story topics instead. I am waiting for other authors to post things in the different topics so we can get the stories going again. I had heard rumors that Eric would write things, but haven't seen proof of it yet. So, come on peoples! Let's get writing!

And by the way, you DON'T have the last post here, so THERE! :P```

By I, (Ranger) on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 - 01:33 pm:

By The One Known Only as (Greyfox) on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 - 04:32 pm:
