Faye, I like your last post. I'm working on some serious character development for Ray. I kinda wanna go down the Bruce Wayne/Batman path of the Knightfall series (Broken Bat and Who Rules The Night). You read those, right? Lemme know if you think I'm doing a good job there. Anyway, all ideas are welcome. I think we'll prolly hafta start moving against GD soon, or else we're gonna end up with a slight case of death. Anyway, back to work I go--we'll talk later on (friday or saturday, I guess). I'll also try and call this evening to hammer out details for this week's gaming with Eric. Oh, well... L8R.

My original plan was to get together with Nat and Faye to discuss upcoming storyline events for Shadowrun, but Nat cannot make it this weekend since her grampa is not doing well (they think he may have had another stroke). So, I guess Faye & I will discuss and set things in motion, and Nat can fill in where she can. And somehow, through it all, we need to work Damien's character into the mix. I had a good idea which I set into motion, we just need to mature it and plant it out there for everybody to read. Anyway, L8R.

Okeydokey. Actually, I put it right after Faye's post where Dallas leaves Lily's place. They seem to be concurrent, plus it staggers the posts a little (rather than a block of Nat, then a block of Faye). Also, I've been milling about some ideas about Fujiyama. It is the beginning of the end for him. He's not making any profit for Matsumuri back in Japan--instead, he's using all the money to fund his little hatred-extermination of the metas... Matsumuri never minded before, as long as he was getting his money. Since he isn't any more, somebody's gonna come out and whack Johnny-boy. If we do it first, no problem... Then we can end this little arc of the story, and mebbe move on to another... I'm so evil... ;> Oh, by the way, I think there is some really GREAT character development going on all around. It's kinda like the Star Wars trilogy, A New Hope introduced everything, had some intense action, and had a climactic ending. Empire had action and everything, but it had the majority of character development in the trilogy, I think... So let's write up a lightsaber duel and finish this thing! ;> L8R!

Sounds like you're in a hurry to end the storyline, Fred =) I had been working on some stuff for Maeda, but if you want I can change it so that it leaves potential for a sequel rather than extend the current story we're working on now.

Oh, just some stuff I'd like to suggest/ask about the Fujiyama/Matsumuri ideas. Didn't matsumuri send Chou over, not only to get rid of Fujiyama (as I remeber the Dianne Scanlon slopiness was the main reason), but to oversee Fujiyama's little extermination experient because Fujiyama was losing some degree of control over it? Also I remember Matsumuri ordering Jack -and anyone who came in contact with him- dead. To to shift the motive exclusively to money would be leaving something out because of his past role in the plot.
Do ya agree that it would make sense to add an additional motive to make it a little more fluid? Wouldn't he also want to snuff out John because of his connection to the experiments? As far as Matsumuri knows, John is more or less the only tangible link to his ivolvement. And as you said Fred, since he's not getting any money from John, all the more reason to get rid of him.
Just thinking. Kick me.

So is my whole post on the meeting of the Tong societies a booboo? I was working on the premise that meta extermination was a plank in the Golden Dragon platform over all. It was what Chou was good at among other things if I recall correctly from story one. I guess I should go back and read some of that one. But I thought that Li and his bretheren could be of assistance in eradicating the international aspect of the Golden Dragon threat. After all since it is a Japanese gang - perhaps even a Yakuza offshoot, there is absolutely no love lost between them and the Chinese organizations.

That's what I thought too (about the Meta-exterm.)Then again we all never really talked about what the GD was in detail, so I guess everybody has their own ideas =) Which is cool, but now that it's becoming a little more important to the plot, we should probably all get together and discuss.

You know what, that's how I set it up, yes. Why was I so silly to think that Eric had made some valid points about the way we've set up the story, when he hasn't ever written for it, or even READ it for that matter... I'm so silly. Let's continue on course. Matsumuri, if anything, would kill Fujiyama for not producing desirable results... So the extermination is Matsumuri's puppy, and if he's the top guy, who tells him that his idea is insane at best and impossible at the very least... Nobody. Unless some underlings of his decide to turn coat and try to get him whacked... Fujiyama is at least dealing in other illegal operations in order to turn some profit to fund his little secret project... Does any of this make sense? The GD is self-destructing, simply because it has decided to make the extermination of all metas its primary objective... Let me know if this is the same thing everybody else is seeing happening here...

I dunno about the entire GD self-destructing, I'd think it's just Fujiyama's Seattle branch about to go boom.
The GD is based in Japan, right? Over there metas are not considered people, at most they're considered foreign visitors- even if they are of Japanse blood and born on Japanese soil. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I thought I read that somewhere. I'd guess the GD would be secure in Japan, so I don't see how they'd self-destruct entirely. Kinda like the KKK down south.
I'd be inclined to say that Fujiyama really screwed up, and that our charming characters are a huge security risk for the GD. He got American policlubs involved with the virus project, and that was a disaster since it compromised security and got our characters sucked in. No one wants evidence pointing to them. They'd kill Fujiyama or frame him. Either way I think they'd probably have to send in people to clean up the little details.
As for Matsumuri being the driving force behind their anti-meta policy, cool. Having his underlings turn on him, that would depend on how he treats his underlings, and if they share the same prejudices (which is usually required to join the GD in the first place). I would asume Matsumuri would be highly charismatic and know how to control people, you don't climb to the top of an organization like the GD for nothing =)

Nat & I have been talking... How about we do a mission impossible thing, taking this list of GD members of importance and infiltrating as a team while they're all in an arcology or hotel or something. Ray, Dallas, & Crane can be the ghosts inside while Spyder hacks into the building's security and is their eyes and ears for 'the big picture'. If we wanna have a couple of Star Trek redshirts with us, maybe we could bring in Boniface or some of the others we're keeping on retainer... In one night, we could take out the GD in its entirety, leaving only John Fujiyama standing. This shows him our strength, and we can send him ultimatums or whatever. Make demands of him, force him to offer us large sums of money, and then blow him away... I'm evil. Faye, talk to me about this, m'kay? L8R!

Well, I had to do SOMETHING, and Barge was just the lucky soul who got hit when I threw the dart.
I haven't decided if the Fujiyama cadre got him on the leads provided by Hiroshi before his departure or if it was indeed Hiroshi in his new guise as Jiro's boy. Unfortunately, I don't know to whom Jiro is connected is he GD or some other nefarious group -- wanna share,ya subcriminal, ya?
Our guys can always hit up the White Tigers for a hideout, Dallas has connections with them :)

Oh, BTW, I figured any bolt Amos Li could provide would be worlds above an Underground bolt. Maybe a penthouse in that hotel he owns or a luxury apartmentsuite hidden inside one of his company owned warehouses for 'associates' of any ilk. Hmm, maybe the latter type. More private. Still no windows for Spyder, but maybe a skylight - bullet proof glass, of course.
