Cylon Base-Star:
The cylon base-star is the largest ship in the cylons' arsenal. It acts as a mobile command post, a super-carrier, a manufacturing facility, and general 'habitat' for the robotic race. It is, in essence, a moving battle-station capable of conquering an entire planet by itself. The fact that cylons have entire fleets of base-stars is a definate cause for worry. It is unknown how many weapon emplacements are on a base-star, but it is known that they carry a significantly large compliment of fighters--as many as 1,000. The shape of the base-star is odd, as well. They resemble 2 pie-plates stacked atop one another, with the narrow ends touching in the middle. Another well-put analogy compares them to "2 flying saucers stuck together in the middle." It is known that the narrow(er) middle section of the base-star houses the flight decks for all the smaller craft. The top disc is usually reserved for 'living space' and command areas, while the bottom disc seems to house the manufacturing facilities necessary for cylon reproduction and planetary assault. Base-stars have a diameter of 3,000 meters and a height of 1,500 meters, making them significantly larger than a battlestar. Base-stars have no known shield technology, and relatively weak hull armor for a ship of its size. However, due to the cylons ideology of conquest and their aggressive nature, the belief in a strong defense is unheard of. They believe in the strength of attack, putting the enemy on the defensive with swarms of fighters and heavy weapons bombardments.

Sheffield Class Cruiser:
The Sheffield is a cruiser class ship, being 600 meters long and carrying no fighters. Usually assigned to fleet escort or light patrol, the Sheffield is able to hold its own against fighter attacks as well as light capital ships. Sheffield cruisers have thicker-than-normal hull armor and strong shields, as well as redundant energy systems. A typical crew compliment is between 400 and 500 personnel. The class has served admirably in the war against the cylons, most combat records showing a loss ratio of only 12%. The Sheffield has a weapons compliment of 12 Laser-batteries (on turrets) and 8 forward-firing torpedo tubes on the prow. The turrets are configured: 6 top, 4 bottom, & 1 each on the port & starboard sides near the rear of the ship. These can swivel to fire at enemies to the rear. 10 turrets can fire forward at any given time--the 6 on top, 2 forward bottom & the 2 on the sides, 11 at a time can fire to either side, 8 can fire up, 6 can fire down. The ships are also equipped with tractor/repulsor beams, extensive medical facilities, and a larger-than-average cargo capacity (to implement cargo hauls where it would otherwise be impractical to send a freighter). Sheffield cruisers have 1500cm-equivalent armor coupled with 3000cm-equivalent shields, making them durable in any combat situation. 60 Sheffield cruisers are currently in active service throughout the Terran Confederation and Union of Border Worlds. Also, there are several documented incidents where Sheffield cruisers were seen in the service of various rogue and pirate organizations. Overall, the Sheffield cruiser is a sturdy, versatile, reliable ship with above-average firepower and the capacity for multiple-role deployment.

Ajax Class Destroyer:
The Ajax has been aptly dubbed "The workhorse" of the Terran Confederation. Having served in various roles from escort to scouting missions, as well as system patrol and search and rescue, this class of destroyers has done it all. The ship itself is only moderately sized, being 400 meters and only carrying 6 laser turrets, but it is extraordinarily fast compared to other ships in its class, capable of speeds up to 300 kps. This makes the Ajax Destroyers ideally suited for close support of most fighters in the Confederation Starfleet. Ajax destroyers can be modularly configured in order to fill out rolls spanning search and rescue to fleet escort, and have a crew compliment between 200-250 personnel, depending on configuration and mission. Ajax destroyers have adequate medical facilities and advanced communications systems, as well as enough cargo capacity to sustain single operations in deep space for as long as 6 months. Many Ajaxes are fitted with advanced sensor components and thousands of cloakmines, which makes them very well suited to system patrol and defence. With a hull strength of 1000cm and shields of 2000cm, the Ajax is deceptively tough for its size, making it one of the most versatile escort ships the Terran Confederation has ever flown.

Hades Class Strike Cruiser:
The Hades is a relatively new design, combining the strengths of a carrier with the speed of a destroyer and the firepower of a heavy cruiser, it is truly a marvel of modern engineering. With a length of 750 meters, it is on the verge of being classified a dreadnought itself, being larger than the Victory class light carrier (720 meters). However, the Hades class has cutting-edge engine technologies and a reinforced hull, making it capable of achieving speeds up to 350 kps. It utilises dreadnought-class phase shields, rendering most energy weapons useless save beam weaponry and high-yield torpedoes (which must be fired at close range due to the shielding). Hull strength on a Hades is 2000cm, with a reinforced bridge section of 2800cm, with a crew compliment between 500-600 personnel. Standard weapons loadout includes 6 forward-firing capital-class torpedo tubes, 10 dual-tachyon turrets, 4 laser turrets, and a mark IV Plasma Projection Cannon (based off weapon designs utilised in Battlestars). The Hades carries 30 fighters in addition to its normal weaponry, and is capable of sustained duty of up to 2 years before replenishing ship's stores, making it the next generation of multi-role attack ship. Only 10 Hades Strike Cruisers are currently in active service, but the class is expected full-line production within the next year.
The 10 Hades class ships are the Hades, Hellstrike, Flamestrike, Inferno, Dante, Cerberus, Charon, Anubis, Osiris, & Reaper.

Vesuvius Class Dreadnought:
Also designated a Super Carrier, the Vesuvius class was designed to fill in the gap the old Battlestars left when they were phased out or lost during the Cylon conflicts. The Vesuvius was implemented as a less expensive fleet-based carrier, as opposed to the more expensive stand-alone Battlestars. At 1000 meters, a Vesuvius is a little more than half the size of a Battlestar, and is capable of carrying 144 fighters. It has a hull rating of 2000cm as well as phase shields, and a crew compliment of 800. The Vesuvius class has 25 laser turrets placed around its relatively simple hull, making fighter assaults on such ships a nearly suicidal proposition. In addition, ships of this class have 12 forward-firing torpedoes as well as enhanced sensor arrays. With proper escort, a Vesuvius class dreadnought is capable of fulfilling many combat roles, and can maintain continuous active duty for up to 3 years before requiring resupply. The Terran Confederation usually bases their fleet organization around a Vesuvius or other carrier class with several capital class escorts. The Vesuvius class dreadnoughts were deployed along the Terran Confederation's borders with Cylon occupied space with great success, and many officials in the Confederation High Command would like to see more ships of this class fielded in the coming years.
The Vesuvius class is expensive to produce and utilizes advanced systems. Only 8 are known to have ever been produced for service in the Terran Confederation: the Vesuvius, St. Helens, Hood, Fujiyama, Rainier, Ararat, Jefferson, and Trident The Vesuvius served as flagship of the Terran Confederation Starfleet until her destruction in 2416.

Victory Class Light Carrier:
The Victory class carrier was among the first carrier class ships ever commissioned, and as such has served in innumerable conflicts. It is a testament to its simple functionality that the class remains in active service today, even among super-carriers and dreadnoughts. The ship itself is 720 meters long and carries 11 laser turrets and a capital-class missile launcher. In addition, it has a fighter compliment of 40 craft, and is capable of attaining a flank speed of 120 kps. The Victory class has gone through numerous refits throughout its illustrious career, and its most recent incarnation has a 1000cm rated hull and 3000cm shields. Victory class carriers can be seen in most Confederation task groups where a larger, more expensive carrier would be considered a "waste of assets". Even so, the Victory class is a capable carrier, able to fulfill its role and return home successfully. Currently there are 40 Victory class carriers known to be in service throughout the Terran Confederation and Union of Border Worlds.
Concordia Class Fleet Carrier:
The Concordia fleet carriers are essentially larger Victory-class carriers, having been commissioned and designed based on the success ratio of the Victory carriers. A Concordia class is larger, measuring in at 850 meters and carrying 72 fighters. In addition, the hull was reinforced to a 1500cm rating and phase shields were added. The Concordia class carries 15 laser turrets as well as 2 capital-class missile launchers, 1 forward and 1 aft. As a final refit, the engines were replaced, allowing the Concordia to achieve flank speeds of 150 kph. It is not uncommon to see Concordia and Victory class carriers flying side-by-side in Confederation task forces. Currently, there are 20 Concordia class fleet carriers in service exclusively to the Terran Confederation.

Estanian Class Light Cruiser:
Length 520 meters
Speed 350kps cruise 500kps flank
Armor 800cm equivalent with +200cm on bridge
Energy Shield 2500cm equivalent
Weapons:
Torpedo launcher(4)- rear firing
Turret-mounted dual Point Defense Beam weapons (2)
Cone Focus Beam weapon
The Estanian Class light cruiser was one of the first designs to come out after first contact with the Cylon Empire. The Terrans wanted a vessel that was able to outrun anything the Cylons had. Several companies competed for the rights to this military contract. During the test runs it became apparent that the military wanted more that a "fast" ship.
Zenon Solar Extraction Corp (ZESC) was among those to design a ship for this contract. An alien race with alien ideas, this corporation had previously only supplied ships to Terrans as prospecting ships. Being their first attempt at a Terran military contract, the owners of ZESC adhered to the specs only. From their designs came the Estanian Model A. The Model A was more than able to fullfil the requiremwnt of speed, but had little or no armor, and nowhere to mount weapons. Needless to say, the military did not bring the ship into full production, but they did express limited interest in the ship itself, for a recon role.
From this interest the model B was created. Among the last model B's to be built were the Andromeda and the Casseopeoia.
In the C model, which was not a production run but a retrofit, B's were given enhanced engine cores to push their cruise speeds up to 350 kps with a new flank speed of 500 kps. The engine cores and their capacity were increased to deal with the enhancements made to both the weapons complement and the shields. They were also equipped with new reconnaissance equipment and additional firepower. The major new technology added to the C package was the replacement of the older shield design with an experimental shielding package developed by ZESC which is rumored to be better than the Phase Shields currently being put into other ships in the Terran fleet. These shields, like the Phase, are supposed to be immune to damage from energy weapons, leaving only physical damage behind. But the geniuses of ZESC were able to also increase the ships overall stealthiness, making it essentially undetectable.
The Andromeda underwent this conversion in 2415, shortly after the destruction of the shipyards at Proxima by the Styme, at Meridia Outpost 274. It was the final Estanian in the Terran military to undergo this transition.
Details of the D model, still in development at ZESC, are few and far between. The only information to have leaked is that they are to be classed as Strike Cruisers as an alternative to the already successful Hades class. Given the current view of aliens by the Terrans, they will express little or no interest, but Estanian have served some of the Border Worlds well.

Hercules Assault Craft:
The Hercules is a standard marine landing craft used in both planetary assaults as well as ship-to-ship actions. The 65 meter shuttle is equipped with mag-locks and a retractable airlock rimmed with plasma-cutters capable of cutting a 6-meter hole in a 2000cm equivalent hull in under 30 seconds. The Hercules also has large cargo doors in its aft, port, and starboard to implement a more economical planetary deployment. Although unarmed, the shuttle is highly maneuverable and can attain speeds up to 375 kps. It is equipped with a shield generator (2500cm equivalent) to make up for its relatively weak hull (150cm equivalent). The Hercules assault craft has a standard crew of pilot, copilot, and loadmaster, is jump-capable, and can transport up to 150 marines including equipment. Standard deployment for boarding actions includes fighter escort to target defensive turrets in the docking location and repel enemy fighters as the Hercules deploys its marines.

Colonial Battlestar:
The colonial battlestars were the Terran Confederation's first attempt at a self-sufficient, deep-space, multi-role carrier/battleship. Originally, 13 were commissioned for deep space exploration and defence. Dispatched to the outlying colonies as a symbol of the Terran Confederation's power and to provide a sense of security for the human colonists, they soon were divided into 2 opposing factions during the colony wars, some choosing to fight alongside ConFed, the rest fighting with the colonists. When first contact was made with the cylons, 2 battlestars had already been destroyed. Of the remaining 11, only 1, the VAXMigrator, was still performing its duties of exploration. Through the course of the cylon war, the battlestars were all either lost in warpspace or destroyed by cylons. Recently, only 1 has been rediscovered and refitted for combat duty... The VAXMigrator.
Battlestars are possibly the largest ship ever produced by the Terran Confederation, measuring 1853 meters long and 1000 meters wide, larger than some starbases currently in service. With a crew complement of 2500-3000 personnel, their comparison to 'mobile cities' is well-deserved. Battlestars can carry over 300 fighters and small craft in their flight decks, housed in the 2 gigantic side sponsons, which are as large as Vesuvius carriers. Armed with over 50 dual-turbolaser turrets, A plasma projection cannon, 12 capital ship missile launchers, and 12 torpedo tubes, battlestars are more than capable of dispatching other capital ships without fighter escort. Ships of this class have thicker than average hulls with a 6000cm equivalent rating, as well as redundant shield systems; regular deflector shields at 3000cm equivalent and blast shields. Also, the unique hull design allows for much larger engines to be implemented, and as such battlestars are capable of attaining speeds as high as 400kps. Battlestars were designed modularly, with future developments in mind, and as such can be very easily modified with new technologies. The VAXMigrator herself has been fitted with 2 alternate FTL drive systems in addition to her standard jump drive, one capable of 'folding' space (the Fourspace Gateway System), and one that simply propels the vessel to speeds as high as 3 times the speed of light. Both engine systems consume an inordinate amount of energy, and so are used only in extreme situations (getting to the Alpha-Tori jump node).
At one time, these mighty ships were the pride of the fleet, but due to economics and a lack of capable production facilities, coupled with an overwhelming number of cylon basestars, they have been all but lost. Never before have such ships been built, and there is a very good chance they never shall again.

Durango Class Light Carrier:
The Durango class was commissioned prior to the Victory class, during the first 25 years of the cylon conflict. They are essentially cruisers converted to carry fighters and small craft. Their primary asset was size and speed, however they lacked sufficient armament to engage other capital ships, and their fighter capacity was minimal. Even so, with proper escort a Durango carrier is a viable threat, and should never be underestimated. Durango light carriers utilize redundant systems and those that are still in service have had numerous, individual modifications performed, making each one a unique ship. The Durango class is only slightly larger than the newer Sheffield cruisers, measuring 650 meters. They are armed with 10 laser turrets, can carry 36 fighters, and have 2000cm equivalent hulls augmented by 2000cm equivalent shields. Due to the hull design, with the engines set to either side of the launch bay, larger engines could be implemented, bringing top speed up to 250 kps. This speed varies from ship to ship, depending on what modifications have been performed through the years.
Currently, there are 25 Durango light carriers on active duty in the Union of Border Worlds, having been decommissioned in the Terran Confederation in 2395. Most Confed Durangos remain in mothballs to this day, awaiting the salvage crews that will 'recycle' them for use in the construction of newer ships.

Phobos Assault Shuttle:
The Phobos shuttlecraft is actually a combat refit of an older, unarmed shuttlecraft design. The ship is 30 meters long, requires a crew of 2 to operate, and can carry up to 20 passengers OR 4 pilot ejection pods (depending on configuration). In the pilot recovery configuration, the large belly-doors open to an empty bay housing the EPRA, which is separated from the cockpit area by an airlock. In its alternate, passenger configuration, the EPRA is removed and a passenger module is fitted in the cargo bay area of the craft. It is armed with 4 lasers and 16 missiles (2x8), as well as a rear-firing dual laser turret. The Phobos is used primarily for close combat support, and is capable of travelling 500kps. It has a hull strength of 300cm and shield strength of 1500cm, as well as standard docking clamps, mag-locks, tractor beams, and EPRA (Ejection Pod Recovery Apparatus). Phobos class shuttles are capable of atmospheric travel, and have been used as close air support as well as landing craft for small strike teams.

Christopher Columbus class exploration & science vessel
The Columbus class utilizes a light corvette chassis to house numerous science labs, sensory equipment, and a powerful engine core. As a result, this 180-meter, jump-capable corvette can achieve speeds of 600kps. It is highly maneuverable for a ship of its size, but has a weak hull rated at 800cm and a shield strength of 1200cm. Armed only with 4 lasers, 2 firing forward and 2 firing aft, the ship is not at all suited for combat. Although it is capable of atmospheric operations, it carries 2 smaller shuttlecraft, usually equipped with sample collectors, enhanced sensors, and tractor beams. The standard crew for this class of ship is between 40-65, and living conditions are spartan at best, with most of the interior space dedicated to research labs and scientific equipment. The usual role of the Columbus class is deep space exploration and stellar cartography, but some pirate factions have been known to 'acquire' them and modify them for combat quite successfully.
The naming convention for this class of ship is famous explorers of Earth history.

Plunkett class Battlecruiser:
The design of the Plunkett class is actually extremely old, having been originated nearly 10 millenia ago by Zarconian scientists. After attaining the powers of a shadowknight, Nimitz went back and refined the design of the battlecruiser, and manipulated timeflow in order for 80 of these vessels to be produced in the course of 10 years. The ship itself is quite impressive, being 650 meters long and capable of a flank speed of 250kps. The ship has 3000cm equivalent armor and phase shields. The Plunkett class carries 22 dual laser turrets as well as several mega-class weapons mounted on turrets--3 triple heavy particle cannons and a triple heavy plasma cannon. The particle cannon turrets are located amidship on either end of the central fin-like structure as well as the dorsal side of the forward hull, and the plasma cannon turret is located on the underside of the forward hull.
The original Plunketts had a major structural flaw. The central 'spine' of the ship was realtively weak, not being able to carry much armor plating on its much smaller frame. No doubt Nimitz has addressed this flaw, making the Plunkett one of the most powerful cruiser-class ships in the galaxy.

Murphy class Destroyer:
The Murphy class seems to have simply sprung into existence in the year 2416, the designs and specifications of which overseen by Nimitz himself. The ship is only 300 meters long, capable of a flank speed of 250kps, has a hull strength of 2500cm, phase shields, and a small fighter bay capable of supporting a squadron. Murphy destroyers carry 7 dual laser turrets and 2 capital class dual missile-pod turrets. It is rumored the Murphy class is a test platform for a new, compact beam weapon designed by Nimitz himself. If this were true, then Nimitz would have at his disposal an entire fleet of small, cheap vessels capable of bringing to bear beam-class weaponry in large volumes.
There are over 200 Murphy class destroyers in and around the shipyards in orbit around the planet Zarcon. These shipyards are designated 'Zarcon Prime'.

Midway class Supercarrier:
The Midway class was the grand experiment of the Terran Confederation. Could they successfully build a ship to rival the ancient battlestars in a cost-effective manner? The simple answer was NO. Two of these ships were built, their combined cost being greater than the entire Terran Starfleet. Although the Midway was begun before the Talona, a last-minute redesign was implemented halfway through its construction, causing a major delay in production. Also, the Midway's construction facility suffered several worker strikes and resource losses, and as a result the Midway is not expected to be completed for another year. Production was also halted for the maiden flights of Talona in order to apply valuable telemetry and engine stress data and set much-needed bench-marks on the new Ionic drives used by the 2 giant ships. As can be imagined, the loss of the Talona was a significant blow to the TCS, but certain officials hold high hopes the Midway will more than redeem her fallen sister ship.
Weighing in at 1830 meters, the Midway supercarrier is only a shuttle-length shorter than a Battlestar. Its split-hull design is significantly less durable than a Battlestar, however, and must rely on newer energy-reinforced hull plating and Phase Shields in order to increase combat survivability. As a result, the ships have a 2000cm equivalent hull rating. 244 fighters and 12 administrative craft are supported within the hammerhead-shaped hull, whose launch bays face forward spanning 6 decks. Another design characteristic borrowed from the Battlestar is the carrier's ability to launch its full compliment of fighters in a single sortie. The ship has 25 powerful turbolasers arranged strategically around its hull, as well as 6 forward firing torpedo tubes and a 1x6 capship missile launcher mounted on the conn. All these features add together to create a formidable ship, albeit slow and cumbersome with a standard cruising speed of only 100kps.
